Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
Primevault Tax Co. ("we", "us") prepares tax returns and provides bookkeeping, payroll and related services. Protecting your personal and financial information is part of that job. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email, phone number and mailing address.
- Tax and financial information needed to prepare your return or provide our services, such as income documents, Social Security numbers, bank details for refunds, and prior returns.
- Documents and messages you upload or send through our client portal.
- Technical information such as sign-in times and the device and browser used, so we can keep your account secure.
How we use it
- To prepare and file your tax returns and provide the services you ask for.
- To communicate with you about your account by email, through the portal, and by text message if you agree to texts.
- To meet our legal obligations, including IRS requirements for tax return preparers.
- To protect your account and our systems, for example with two-step sign-in.
How we share it
We do not sell your information. We share it only as needed to provide our services or as the law requires, for example with the IRS and state tax agencies when we file your return, with banks that process refund products you choose, and with service providers that host our systems under confidentiality obligations. Tax return information is used and disclosed only as allowed by Internal Revenue Code section 7216 and its regulations.
Text messages (SMS)
If you agree to receive texts from Primevault Tax Co., we use your mobile number only to send messages about your account and tax return, such as document requests, signature reminders and status updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Texts never contain your tax return details, Social Security number or account numbers.
How we protect it
We maintain a written information security program as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule. Our client portal uses encrypted connections (HTTPS); staff accounts require two-step sign-in; and access to client records is limited to the people working on them.
Your choices
- You can update your contact details or turn text updates on or off in your client portal.
- You can ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct it, by emailing us.
- We keep tax records for the periods required by law, then dispose of them securely.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
